Oyster on National Rail but not in stations

So you can use your Oyster card in the trains around London... but you can't buy one in Richmond station -despite it being a District line terminus.

    This poster is misleading at best. You can buy Oyster season tickets at Richmond station, I've done it!

    But can you buy a new Pay as you go Oyster card in Richmond station?

    BTW, the shops on the poster are at over 300m away (about 1mn according to Google maps..
